The Art of Styling Workshop

Earlier this week we featured the oh-so-elegant ‘Untamed Beauty’ inspiration shoot Louise created at The Art of Styling Workshop (see the full shoot). After a morning of learning her process, tips and tricks for creating shoots that get published, the afternoon is dedicated to a group styling session and today I’m thrilled to share the styling created by her fabulous students!

This time, Louise asked her group of talented attendees to interpret the brief she used for ‘Untamed Beauty‘, splitting the group into teams responsible for styling the tablescape, bridal look and details.

I love the elegant neutral palette of cream, taupe and peach they used to convey the romance of the fairytale, with copper and navy accents bringing neutral wedding inspiration right up to date! The team asked Amy from Bo Boutique to create a lush, overflowing centrepiece for the sweetheart table with a backdrop of more foliage to create a whimsical woodland effect.  These textures were echoed in the bridal styling, selecting a dress with feathered skirt and a glamorous one-shoulder detail, and completed with a sweeping up do accented with a hidden bridal comb in the back.

I learnt so much AT Louise’s styling workshop. it has really helped me formalise the way I approach shoots. So far I have been able to put my new techniques into practice with securing the collaboration of some great new suppliers and running two amazing shoots – just holding my breath for feedback on publications – eek! The best bit for me about the shoot was the hands on styling exercise and working with some really talented suppliers to style some beautiful shots.”  Emily Andrew, Your Norfolk Wedding

The Art of Styling Workshops are hosted bi-annually at the B.LOVED Hive, with the next workshop on Wednesday 4th October 2017.  This time, Louise will be sharing her secrets with photographers who not only want to learn about capturing the details editors will love, but also the chance to build their portfolio with a series of vignettes styled by Louise herself. The investment for this workshop, including a beautifully designed goody bag and delicious styled group lunch is £495 per person, only six places available.
