b.party Part 2 ~ On Film
Have you finally finished reading b.party Part 1? Then you’re ready for the next stage of the action! This post is incredibly special, as every image here was shot on film. As a huge advocate of film photography (the quality and softness, sigh!) and a huge fan of Charlie from CKB Photography, it was without question that I invited her along to catch some of the special details and moments of the event for us. The beauty of film is the not knowing, the anticipation of seeing the final images. As a generation accustomed to having digital images almost instantly there’s something rather wonderful, nostalgic even about the wait. As exciting as seeing every moment captured on the evening from all our photographers has been, there was something very magical about downloading this set of beautiful images. A moment to slow down the pace, and enjoy.
Before the guests arrived, and just as the last rays of sunshine dipped below the city skyline, Charlie and I grabbed 5 minutes to capture some gorgeous London portraits. For me, it was a chance to capture my gorgeous dress, designed and custom-made by the amazingly talented Faith Caton-Barber. She took my vision and made it into the most beautiful reality imaginable. Made from a gorgeously light and floaty silver chiffon with glittery pindots (a fabric I had long-since fallen in love with), a ruffled tulle overlay and soft bow, it was so much more than I could ever have dreamed to wear that evening! Many people asked me if I felt like a bride that evening, and in this gorgeous creation it wasn’t far off!
As if getting to wear the prettiest dress wasn’t enough, the gorgeous Ana Ospina created a party-ready makeup look for me complete with fluttery lashes and (my new fave!) coral lips. The lovely Jo from LoveHair worked her magic to turn my tresses into tousled tumbling curls ready to show off a glamorous glittery headpiece made especially for the event by Victoria Millésime. To finish my outfit I added a suitably sparkly beaded clutch and matching shoes, what else?!
As we dashed back to the venue, our guests began to arrive. Pink fizz at the ready, served by the dashing Mr B. and the sounds of The Travelling Hands lured them along the river and through the draped entrance for an evening of pretty, stylish fun!
