berry & tweed wedding inspiration

Hello again lovelies! I’m super happy at the mo – my favourite season has arrived…I’m sure it’s partly to do with my Birthday falling in October, but I love Autumn and especially the colours! The warm and rich jewel tones that fill the countryside and show off nature at its colourful best are an absolute treat to the eye. Along with these, the produce that’s on offer at this time of year match the colours perfectly. Particular all the delicious berries that are abound! Obviously with berry being a main feature in Goose&Berry name, it seems only natural that this would be a stunning Autumnal inspiration for your wedding. Matched with this is one of my other favourites – Tweed (you should see my wardrobe – it’s like a country chic/Downton-esque heaven!). The berry hues and the natural tones of tweed pair beautifully together and bring a fabulous rustic feel to an Autumn wedding.

Use berries for your food and drink – cute canapés such as mini Yorkshire puds, with beef and a blackberry. Berry tartlets and berry martini. Also think about adding them into your décor; in floral displays; they add an extra dimension to colour and textures. There are some truly stunning flowers that have rich wine, aubergine, raspberry and plum tones. Mix together and let your bouquet and displays come alive! Add in some wine or aubergine coloured crockery and glassware for that extra pop of colour. A bold berry lip would look stunning upon a bride and perhaps added with a berry coloured floral crown – dreamy. Added to tweed materials, think tweed, tartan or plaid table runner, linen or napkins and the groom and ushers in a tweed suit. Quite the country gent and a great alternative to a traditional morning suit that can be worn again! You could also add in a few blankets – your guests will thank you on those Autumnal evenings! Right…I’m off to pick some sloes to make some gin!

Flowers: Florals and fruit are key for this look; they can bring in so many depths of colours and can accentuate the berry tones. Liz at Blue Sky Flowers can create some magical floral masterpieces, take a look here.

Throws & Blankets: Keep your guests nice and snug and have several throws & blankets on offer. You can find similar at Next, they have some fab items and you can mix and match to your hearts content!

Berry Tartlets: Add in some of the berry flavours that this season has to offer with some berry tasty treats. As well as planning and styling weddings and events, Goose & Berry are also caterers for serious foodies and desserts are our speciality! Take a closer look at what we can do and the yumminess we can provide.

Being named after Jane Austen’s Emma, it is serendipitous that I would end up working in weddings. A country girl at heart, I am equally comfortable roaming the farm in my tweed, surrounded by animals or sat in a beautiful Georgian property dining on afternoon tea and sipping champagne. With a strength in organising and a flair for creativity and a passion for everything wedding related I have been lucky enough to work as a Wedding Co-Ordinator for some stunning venues across the South East. I look after the social media and am Co-Planner at Goose & Berry, luxury wedding & event planners & caterers based in London & Buckinghamshire ( and am on hand to help you plan and design your perfect day.
