Breathtaking Amalfi Coast Elopement: Ashley & Bilal

The Story:  Ashley & Bilal first met the old fashioned way. They were both brunching with friends at Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles but exchanged gazes and numbers before they left. Since their first date, they have not left each other’s side.

The Location:  After a grand romantic engagement celebrated with friends and family, Ashley and Bilal opted for the ultimate intimate wedding celebration – an elopement in Italy with just the two of them. They choose the Belmond Hotel’s Caruso on the breathtaking Amalfi Coast as the stunning venue for their I dos. This 11th-century hotel is a sanctuary in picturesque Ravello with panoramic views, sprawling subtropical gardens and frescoed salons.

The Vibe: Old world glam with a modern sexy edge. This wedding oozes class. It may have been small in scale, but was undoubtedly big on style. This celebration was also chock a-block full of passion. The intensity between our lovers was electric and palpable, making for an unforgettable day.

The Details: The décor was very simple with a saturated all-white colour palette. A violinist played A Thousand Years by Christina Perri as Ashley walked down an aisle of white rose petals in the hotel garden. After the ceremony, the couple shared an intimate dinner and danced together under the stars. Ashley wore a simple yet dramatic all lace gown from Pronovias. This was paired with Renee Caovilla heels embellished with pearls and Ashley’s long tresses were styled in dramatic Hollywood waves to complete her look. Bilal chose a black tuxedo with a peak lapel, cutaway collar and bow tie. He opted for a classy Paul Stuart velvet lace up shoe with patent leather detail.

Tips & Highlights:

  • Ashley and Bilal got up early at 5.30am to do a first look at Terrazza DelI’infinito at Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. This allowed for optimal lighting and weather for the pictures (and memories) that Ashley and Bilal would be taking with them.
  • If you are considering eloping abroad, a local wedding planner should have the necessary connections to help make everything super simple and smooth for you in the organisation department. If you are thinking about eloping on the Amalfi Coast, Ashley recommends Victoria Morris at Sophisticated Weddings.
  • If you are wanting to reduce the stress that can be associated with organising a wedding, an elopement is an excellent option. These intimate celebrations allow couples to focus on each other, which is what really matters.
