B.LOVED AT BRIDES THE SHOW
There are lots of bridal shows and fairs across the UK, all of which are great at helping you find the best suppliers across the country. The stand out show for us though has to be Conde Naste’s Brides the Show, held at the Business Design Center in trendy Islington every Autumn and now in it’s third year. With a reputation for showcasing the most stylish brands in the wedding industry, with a fashion focus and luxe feel, this is definitely one we’d recommend all brides to visit! This year I found heaps of inspiration for the season ahead (capes, 2016 brides, it’s all about the capes!) and some exciting new suppliers nestled among our much loved faves. Sarah Hannam joined me to capture the pretty as I chatted to the exhibitors and caught the Jenny Packham 2016 collection preview!
For minimalist brides, the stand out designer for me was Charlotte Simpson, whose dress rail was hung with structured dresses, striking in their simplicity in shades of white and delicious textures. Victoria Made stunned with her cake creations, from a bold black and pink design to the more traditional floral cakes, we found ourselves ooohing and aaahing over every one before heading over to say hi to the gorgeous girls at twobirds bridesmaids who were modelling their own dresses beautifully. I’m so coveting the new tulle ballgown in Seafoam (it’s my birthday coming up if anyone fancies surprising me!).
At Sophie Beale I was totally converted to millinery for the bride & her maids, I loved the teeny tiny bridesmaids hats and statement MOB pieces equally. We also popped in to say hi to our friends at Prezola, who offer the best wedding gift list service (in our humble opinion!) showcasing some of their beautiful products from The White Company, Cox & Cox and more. Bridal newcomers My Day My Way caught my eye with their sparkly knit and tulle skirt combo proudly on display (I could totally rock that look on a Friday night out, right?!), their online boutique sells dresses and accessories from the more boutique-y bridal designers. We love the concept and will be introducing you to more about this fabulous brand soon! Philippa Craddock wowed with her stand, a stunning rose arch and beautifully romantic rose-filled table in the lushest pink shades. We love this lady’s work, and if you’re looking for pure romance this florist is the one for you! Finally Maids to Measure brought a touch of fun to the show with their beribboned stand and rose-gold cowl neck bridesmaids dress certainly stole the show for a lot of brides & their maids!
We rounded off our evening viewing the preview of Jenny Packham’s 2016 bridal collection. We’re huge fans at B.LOVED HQ, loving the slinky designs and exquisite detailing that have become this designer’s signature style. There were a few surprises too, a riqsue laced-up back, whimsical dusky pink number and a stunning floral design which literally stole the show for me. The key trend were capes and angel wings – a gorgeous update on the beautiful back details we’ve seen on the catwalk for the past few seasons, and one that’s super wearable for brides too!
