bridesmaids: the movie {review}

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to a special screening of Bridesmaids by the lovely Charley from London Bride, and Universal Pictures, with about 50 other wedding pro’s, bloggers and brides to be (and even a couple of grooms to be!).  We met at the at the Soho Hotel for a couple of pre-movie drinks before being ushered into the funky private screening rooms, all comfy red leather and cowhide armchairs, and that all important drinks table!

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect, but we giggled, chuckled and roared with laughter as we followed the story of bride-to-be Lillian, unlucky maid of honour Annie and her troupe of mismatched maids.  It’s unlike any other wedding movie I’ve seen, although of course there’s a few predictable disasters along the way, it’s brutally honest, at some points crude, and hilariously funny!!  I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, planning a wedding is stressful, so if you’re having a nightmare with your maids, your dress or your hen do, take a night off, grab your girlfriends and go and see this movie, it will make your wedding planning seem like a breeze!

For pictures of our evening, head over to Sugar & Spice Photography where you can see how Juliet, our candid paparazzi, captured the evening’s goings on.

Bridesmaids is in UK cinema’s from 24th June, don’t forget to tell us what you thought of the movie in the comments below!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
