Four British Wedding Trends We’re Loving in 2018
We’re really excited to be part of Aisle Society, an online collective of wedding bloggers from around the world who have come together to share with you the very best bridal inspiration. As a truly international brand (fun fact: Aisle Society has bloggers in 10 countries, from the UK and US to New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates!) we love to celebrate our unique diversity, and this week we’re celebrating all things British as we kick off Destination UK, showcasing everything our bloggers around the world love about British weddings!
So of course, we wanted to share the things we love most about British weddings in 2018…

Rehersal dinners are a long-standing tradition in the US, but until recently the idea of bringing your guests together for a longer celebration hasn’t really caught on this side of the pond. We’ve been watching this trend grow with excitement over the past few years, and with many private venues now offering 3 , 4 and even week-long wedding packages we’re thrilled that you get to celebrate with your loved ones for that much longer!
ORANGERIES & GLASS MARQUEES

We’ve long been fans of orangery weddings here at B.LOVED HQ, there’s nothing quite like all that glass for flooding your venue with lots of natural light. And of course since Pippa Middleton’s glass marquee wedding, the trend for glass venues has exploded.
We’re particularly loving the beautiful Orangerie at Chiswick House (featured in our Love in Bloom editorial here) and the brand new glass marquee installed on the lawns of beautiful Kensington Palace. (pssst.. to find our more you’ll find both venues listed in the B.LOVED Edit).
BRITISH BRIDAL DESIGNERS

We may be biased, but we think British bridal designers are some of the best in the world!
From Kate Halfpenny (see her dresses featured in our Wild Romance editorial) whose fashion-forward designs allow brides to express her true style and be her best self, to Andrea Hawkes whose understated style takes the finest fabrics to create a strong yet simplistic aesthetic.
British bridal accessories are also a key trend the world over. Our favourite has to be Emmy London, whose shoes can be found peeking out under wedding gowns from London to New York! Be inspired by Emmy’s latest collection here.

Our final – and freshest – trend to hit the UK this season is grazing tables. For couples looking to bring families together in a relaxed and informal way, there’s no better way than piling tables high with the freshest local produce from artisan bakers and chefs. The grazing table satisfies the most foodie of couples, and is a beautiful way to celebrate the very best of British – from organic reared ham, artisan breads and cheeses to local honey.
Of course this is just the start! If you want to know more about what the rest of the world thinks our weddings are all about then make sure you’re following #ASDestinationUK on Instagram (starting Monday!) and add ‘United Kingdom‘ to your Society today!
