Pretty weddings make me smile, so you can imagine the grin on my face when I spotted this gorgeous little Irish celebration photographed by Christina Brosnan.  Taking inspiration from her favourite blogs (and ours too!), bride Cela chose a pretty pink, coral and lilac colour palette with romantic rustic details.   You’re going to love her Vera Wang dress paired with blue Ted Baker shoes, the cut timber table settings, on-trend tassels, giant balloons and a touch of Hollywood glamour – there is so much inspiration to take away from their lovely day!

We met at college in Ireland. We had a lot of mutual friends so we always seemed to be in the same place at the same time.  Later, on our last night of a 10 day trip to Hawaii we decided to take part in the traditional Hawaiian luau. Throughout the evening Brian was trying very hard to get me on my own so that he could propose. It didn’t help that I was enjoying the open bar and the last night of our trip. He even suggested taking a romantic walk on the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunset! After the luau we decided to venture to the bars in Kona. As we walked through the town it started pouring rain. We had to run under a tree for cover or risk getting soaked wet………in the midst of it all he proposed.

I wore a White by Vera Wang wedding dress, I loved the fit.I had the neckline altered from straight to sweetheart and my sister had the Swarovski crystal belt made in New York to add some glitz & glam.  The earrings and bracelet were from Lord and Taylor, New York. The shoes were from Ted Baker & my birdcage veil was handmade by my sister Mary Clair.  I love the old Hollywood glamour look so it was an easy decision to have red lips & tight curls.  I looked at a lot of different styles and colours, but once I purchased my dress I loved the lace detail and knew I wanted to keep that flowing through. We found the bridesmaids dresses at Ann Taylor. I loved the lace/chiffon mix and the subtle pale pink colour.

We got married in the local parish church in Tarbert, Co. Kerry where I grew up. It’s small, local & full of family spirit. The reception was held at Hotel Doolin in Co. Clare. It’s a small, cozy boutique hotel with excellent food & views of the Atlantic. It’s very close to the Cliffs of Moher, and Doolin is the capital of traditional Irish music so we knew our guests would be well entertained.

Our wedding style was rustic vintage with a twist of Hollywood glamour!  Blogs played a major part in the inspiration for our wedding where we found some great ideas {One Fab Day , Wedding Chicks and Green Wedding Shoes were among my favourites} All of our wedding stationary was a DIY affair. I bought the stationary at Paper Source and then had fun printing the wedding invitations, mass booklets, menus, place cards and table names.  My dad cut & sanded the wooden centre pieces for the tables. We added jars with flowers and scented candles along with the table numbers to these. We used a huge block of wood for the cake stand. We bought cloths pegs and added glitter to them to hold the place cards to a garden trellis.  We picked a lot of honeysuckle and greenery which was growing wild in abundance around my house and then we mixed these with various coloured roses. My sister had bought feathers which we added to the bouquets and she made the boutonnieres for the groomsmen.

The lovely Christina Brosnan took our wedding photographs. I actually found her by chance, after our original choice was already booked.  She recommended Christina to me, and once I visited Christina’s website and blog and saw her work I was hooked and delighted I had found her! After putting a lot of hard work and effort into our wedding day having a very talented photographer like Christina made all the hard work pay off once we saw the beautiful photographs & our finished product.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
