Champagne Minimalism in Berlin

The Story: The inspiration for this styled wedding shoot was minimalistic elegance, using neutral, earthy tones to create a refined and sophisticated look that appeals and is accessible to modern brides.

The Location: Magazin at Heeresbäckerei in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Germany. This event space is an impressive industrial monument with a nostalgic spirit. Located at the Spree and formally used as a warehouse, the building including its magnificent hall has been renovated in a way which respects and is sympathetic to its historical charm.

The Vibe: Monocramatic modernist. This look is all about clean lines and beautiful shilouttes. Cosmopolitan and feminine, think champagne in intricate crystal flutes.

The Details: The colour palette used incorporated numerous soft neutrals such as whites, nudes, soft rose, milky coffee and caramel. A gentle colour gradient was added in the flowers and candles creating a sense of warmth. The scented champagne-hued vetches added some texture to the floral arrangements. This provided the perfect contrast to the compact shaped carnations. The minimalist table setting was paired with beautiful florals that contributed to the desired sense of elegance. The bride wore the wide flared and heavy falling Pia Skirt from Ritual Unions which was made of draped silky crepe. This was combined with a sequined and beaded classic sweetheart corset for some embellishment.

Tips & Highlights:

  • If you are thinking about using a neutral colour palette, use different textures to add some depth to your look. A great example of this was the glassware and twisted candles used on the tablescape combined with the matt black cutlery.
  • For bridal separates such as a skirt and top or corset, a belt can be used to pull your look together (see 18 Bridal Belts to Pull Your Wedding Look Together). Here the pleated Pia Belt from Ritual Unions, a statement belt with ruffles, was used to create a progressive and modern bridal look.
  • If scents float your boat, remember to pick blooms that have an aroma and will complement the other flowers you have chosen to create a bouquet of dreams.
