We first met this special couple in 2012 when I shared their travel-inspired wedding in the Netherlands. Meeting on board an aircraft, aviation and travel has played a big part in their relationship and of course their marriage! So, three years later, when they had the opportunity to venture to France for an anniversary shoot at wedding photographer Anouschka Rokebrand’s ‘A French Experience’ workshop, they were on the first plane!

Their chic anniversary shoot at Chateaux de Marie is everything you’d expect and more, from the gorgeously romantic grounds to sophisticated gowns and glamorous jewellery.

As we were both working in aviation and met each other onboard an aircraft, a travel-inspired theme was something we definitely wanted to incorporate into our day. We made a lot of the decorations ourselves. In exchange for a lunch, we invited a couple of friends one weekend to join us in cutting fabrics for garlands, decorating small vases and help us with designing our wedding stationery. If we had a chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing!

The whole day took place in one venue; the marriage, reception, dinner and even the wedding night. No hassle of driving from one place to the other and a stress free day was guaranteed.

We always wanted to book an anniversary shoot because we both have a passion for photography and wanted to capture our love on camera again. But for some reason we did not find the time to do it. So when Anouschka posted a message on social media where she was looking for models, I immediately wrote her a message. Both my husband and I are a big fan of Anouschka’s work, so when we heard we got picked I felt really honored and so happy! It meant we got to work with her again, as she also captured our wedding day. The photos she made of our day were absolutely stunning.

The shoot took place in France, in the Champagne province. We stayed in an old chateau, which had its own chapel and was located in a typical French village. The setting was so romantic.

While I was getting ready, with getting my make-up and hair done, it caught me that I was feeling the same way as on my wedding day; a little anxious to show everyone my dress and soon being married to my best friend.

All the suppliers who came along to France were so nice, and very professional. It was really inspiring to see all these dedicated people, who believe in making things beautiful.  It was truly an amazing French experience.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
