Chic City Wedding with Romantic Elements

If you’re in the middle of rescheduling your summer wedding to later in the year, this chic city Birmingham wedding inspiration shoot from The Wedding Bubble is perfect for you! Inspired by the city skyline and contrasting architectural elements with ethereal details, we love the monochrome + blush palette and modern bridal style captured stylishly by Curious Rose Photography that works beautifully in the cooler months of the year.

We chose the soft grey and blush pinks to complement the black gloss tiled floor and dark ceiling and curtains. The combination of the two results in a classic and timeless look.

When thinking about what colour palette you would like for your wedding day, we would recommend considering the space you will be displaying them in. Our tip would be to use this soft, pastel colour palette in spaces that have strength of tone and could be considered dark or harsh. Introducing the softer tones in florals and decor will lift the room and show the two off in all their glory.

We love clever and creative floral design! Our incredible florist, Pollen Floral Joy, worked with a palette of light, natural and bleached out flowers throughout, creating two bouquets to compliment our day and evening bridal styles.

With tall centrepieces still very much on trend, we wanted to add our own unique twist using tall, clear perspex stands to give the illusion of floating florals.

1.  Think outside the box, and don’t feel restricted by what your venue can provide. For example, the venue chairs didn’t work with the clean, contemporary look that we envisioned for this shoot so we hired chairs in to dramatically change the overall effect.

2.  Be brave. If you want a chic, city wedding make choices based on the styles you feel an affinity with. You don’t need to incorporate ‘traditional’ wedding elements in a city venue, you can achieve a modern and different look whilst still having the timeless elegance you crave.

3.  Attention to detail. Be relentless!  The tiny details may seem insignificant on their own, but when pulled together it’s the small elements that have the most impact overall.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.

Today’s inspiration shoot is unashamedly crammed full of oodles and oodles of pretty. Th
