Colourful Blush Pink + Gold Decor and Fringe Installation

Floral Designer Katya Stavitskaya + Wishbone Berlin were behind creating this modern, chic design for the Babes Brunch captured by Anne Freitag. We loved the bright colour palette with pink and gold, and what about this statement fringe installation hung above the table! Yes please! Here’s Katya to tell you all the details: “The style of this Babes Brunch was meant to be loud, fun and unforgettable. Afterall, it was the first of the series of Babes Brunch and we really wanted to make a lasting impression on the women that came. The whole look of this event centered around the big beautiful pink streamer installation that was made especially for this event, it took us four days to make and using just about every material we could get our hands on, it really was a labour of love.

The installation and the color pink were in great contrast with the venue so out of the different creative concepts we came up with, this seemed the most fitting. Part of the Babes Brunch series is to feature women entrepreneurs in the creative industry, we do this by having them take over certain parts of the event and showcasing their work and/or products. For this event, Marga from GotVintage provided all the tabletop rentals – silverware, glasses, vases, etc. I remember that Marga had these beautiful pink champagne glasses, they were just begging to be photographed and they fit perfectly with our pink installation. We ended up serving hibiscus mimosas in those glasses, topping them with pink candy clouds and a dusting of dried flowers – they weren’t just ridiculously photogenic but also delicious.

We planned in advance that flowers should also mirror the installation, so fun popping pinks, reds, fuschias and rather than competing with the rest of the decor, we went for minimal arrangements. It turned out to be the right combo with splashes of color lined out on the table and a waterfall of pinks and gold raining from above.”

Three tips to creating this look:

  • Make sure you give yourself enough time to make such a large handmade installation: we cut all the pieces by hand, one by one, and didn’t realize the amount of work until we were in the thick of it.
  • Choose bright, bold colors.
  • Add minimal flower arrangements to keep things balanced.
