DATE WITH GEMMA MILLY: CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOPS
With Mr B away, it couldn’t have been more perfect to spend the Valentine’s weekend with a group of fellow wedding bloggers learning calligraphy with the lovely Gemma Milly! Hosted at the gorgeous Miss Bush Chapel, the light, bright space was decked out in more pretty than you can imagine by Sundari, AKA The Wedding Stylist – with pink paper flowers hanging from the ceiling, sparkly sequinned linen from Gilded Linens and a table laden with treats from Honeywell Bakes and pretty china from A Cup of Vintage.
Calligraphy is one of those wedding details that never fails to make me swoon, and having worked with Gemma in the past I knew this was my chance to learn from a true pro. Armed with our pen and ink, she talked us first through the basics of making lines with our pens, onto the ‘advanced’ task of creating letters and then actual words. I’ve never heard a room full of girls so quiet, with concentration etched on our faces we realised this is nothing like writing but a true art form!
For creative brides, Gemma is will be holding Calligraphy Workshops throughout the spring, and I’d recommend getting yourself booked in pronto! There’s even 20% off for BLOVED readers, just enter the code INK20 at the checkout. Imagine addressing your wedding invites with a perfectly calligraphed envelope, and dressing your tables with beautiful place names created by your own fair hand.
