Letitia & David’s city chic engagement shoot

Hello readers! Are we all having a lovely week?
This morning we’re taking an ever-so-chic trip to the city of Cape Town with this glamorous engagement shoot from Abby Anderson. Although I often share shoots from this beautiful part of the world, it’s usually the wine farm weddings and windswept beach shoots that I get to feature, so I hope you enjoy a different insight into Cape Town today!
Letitia & David’s engagement shoot is so chic! I love the different styles; a sophisticated boho look with a gorgeous red dress and braid, and then a stunning gold sequinned dress all set against that one-of-a-kind city backdrop.
Here’s their story ~
We met at the Damhuis (restaurant). Both of us were working there and we were asked by various people if we were an item (at that stage we weren’t). I had a boyfriend so even though Dave had asked me to go for a drink after work I had always just said no. Eventually I had broken it off with my boyfriend and said yes to that drink with Dave…..that was 3 and a half years ago
Dave and I went to Cape Point Nature Reserve on Good Friday. We ate at the restaurant, and he had a rum just before we went up to the top to go sight seeing – I thought it was odd but he just convinced me that we had finished a bottle of wine and he just felt like having one more. (Nerves, ha ha). At this stage he had asked my dad and my mother for permission. We went to the top in the tram and walked around, took photos and explored. It had been my first time there so everything was quite exciting! He then suggested we go up to the light house.
Once we were finally up there he told me to climb onto this massive rock right in front of the lighthouse so that he could take a photo. I climbed up and he followed. Only just as I was up and turned around he had climbed up and gone on one knee. I heard one of the tourists down below whispering “oh he’s proposing” before my brain actually registered what was happening! He then asked me to marry him! Just as I said yes and gave him a kiss, we heard the applause – about 40 tourists had all turned and come from below to watch what was happening. They clapped and cheered and took photos and videos and congratulated us all they way back down.So that is how he proposed :D I love talking about that story!
As far as the wedding plans are going… We are still in the early phases. We have sent out our save the dates and we know we have booked our venue, Lourensford! Because this is what I do for a living, (events management) we don’t feel hurried with the planning at all, and we have got both the Red Hot Events team, and The Aleit Group to help make my day happen so we are not stressed at all!
What a fun engagement shoot with such a glamourous looking couple.
