Planning a destination wedding can be a tough feat. You are often dealing with climates and locations that you aren’t familiar with. Colour palettes that might beautifully complement our British weather patterns, can fall flat or look out of place in warmer climes.
But never fear, that is exactly what we are here for, a helping hand to help you create the wedding of your dreams, and todays desert styled shoot certainly has oodles of destination wedding inspiration.
There’s a sunshine colour palette of orange, yellow and browns, complimented with the crisp white of the bride’s dress. And there are some fabulous rustic-luxe details that shine through the warm surroundings.
Photographer, and brainchild behind this shoot, Olga Siyanko is on hand to talk us through the film inspiration behind this desert rose theme.
For this project we were inspired by incredible movie “Desert Flower”, adapted from a book by Waris Dirie.
This is a story about a woman with a really strong spirit. We were impressed by the film, a lot of ideas were spinning in my head, pictures appeared before my eyes…
The colour palette that we selected for the project was a combination of divine golden with the innocence and purity of white, this combination reflected the depth of the inner strength of the heroine. We wanted this to work of course, naturally and simply, so the other colours in the palette were left to the nature itself.
Magnificent sand dunes, untouched natural terrain, boundless, bright space, which came in contrast and yet complemented our unique couple. One had the feeling that these huge sand dunes protected their innermost feelings. Wilderness and the hot sun made us immerse more and more into the story.
Everything was done in one breath. From beginning to end we were as if in the euphoria, all the pieces fell into the right places, and everything worked out exactly as intended.
