Eclectic British Brilliance at Pylewell Park
The Story: This styled shoot was inspired by the mission statement of Pylewell Park which is “Eclectic and eccentric, bonkers and British”. The idea was to juxtapose this historic estate with the modernity of the new outside pavilion and create a fun, modern look for open-minded couples who are not afraid to use colour.
The Location: Pylewell Park is a heritage country house wedding and events venue in Hampshire. With some serious wow factor and sea views, their wedding package offers exclusive use of the main house for two nights with accommodation for up to 26 guests. The property boasts a stunning pavilion and amazing lawns which are ideal for entertaining guests. The house also has a newly renovated bridal suite with gorgeous twin roll top bathtubs.
The Vibe: Brave, fun, flirty and feminine. This wedding is all about being over the top and in your face with a hint of whimsy. The key element for this look was the bold use of pastels with a bright red accent. This was used throughout the shoot, from the tablescape to the balloon installation.
The Details: The floral design was key. The arrangements were designed with the eccentricity of the venue in mind. Rhiannon from Willow & Wisp selected quirky, lesser known floral varieties that aren’t normally associated with weddings such as tropical anthurium and dyed asparagus fern. The intent was to reflect the personality of the estate through mismatched blooms and clashing colours. Pinks and reds were the dominant hues with pops of pale blue delphinium and oxypetalum. The stationery suite also used clashing colours (blues, pinks and red) to create some stand out pieces.
- For a distinctly modern look, consider omitting greenery from your floral arrangements.
- If your venue has extensive lawn space, think about how this can be utilised as a place for guests to mingle such as through the use of giant board games like Jenga and chess.
- If you are after a personalised look, consider creating a custom monogram using your initials which can be used on your stationery suite (e.g. on invitations, menus). Gold foiling can be added for a luxe finish.
