Eco-Chic Earthy Wedding in Berlin

The Story:  This styled wedding shoot featuring real Berlin couple, Hannu & Jule, is all about intimacy with a focus on keeping things scaled back and eco-chic. This aesthetic pairs contemporary design with earthy and natural Berlin style, ideal inspiration for the sustainably conscious millennial.

The Location: Gebrüder Fritz – Carl Fritz is an old apartment building in Berlin’s upscale Charlottenburg neighbourhood. It has six different rooms which can be rented out separately for exclusive events. Each of the rooms has its own unique charm with varied colour palettes, flooring, flexible furniture, lots of daylight, original stucco and high ceilings. This is a unique intimate event space, ideal for a micro-wedding.

The Vibe: Small, special and relaxed. This wedding is all about creating an exceptional and memorable yet casual evening to be shared with our couple’s nearest and dearest. Every detail has been picked and styled thoughtfully, with a focus on nature and organics. Even the menu consisted solely of locally sourced vegetarian ingredients and looks like something foraged from a nearby forest.

The Details:  Keeping with the natural vibe, the colour palette for this styled shoot was all about whites, brown, beig, various shades of green and some hints of blush. To avoid this looking like something you have seen before, the team played with textures and the natural shapes, bringing in a hint of wildling. The floral design was one of the key elements. In addition to the bouquet and table arrangements, some life was added to the location using greenery throughout.

  • Let your location set the tone and vibe for your event. For this shoot, the colour palette was inspired by the historical features of its venue.
  • If you are going for a natural or earthly theme, keep your styling natural including when it comes to hair and natural. You can also think of the box when it comes to fashion, like our groom’s three piece brown textured suit from Monokel Berlin.
  • Don’t be afraid of asymmetry and if you want to bring in a hint of the wild, consider using greenery in your floral arrangements instead of regular flowers.
