Elegant Rustic Inspired Shoot in Tuscany

Italy has always been one of our favourite European wedding destinations, and though we sadly can’t venture there at the moment we can bring a fresh dose of Italian-inspired loveliness straight to you.

If you are planning an Italian, or rustic destination wedding this rich and warm elegant, rustic Tuscan wedding inspiration by Le Maestro and captured by Neli Prahova is sure to have you dreaming of better days.

The setting for this shoot was Borgo Casa Al Vento, a sustainable winery in Gaiole, Chianti, Italy. This borgo was previously a small rural village which has now been transformed into a rustic yet sophisticated hotel.  This gem of Tuscany was the inspiration for an elegantly rustic Autumn wedding shoot. Europe Wedding supplied beautiful vintage items that complimented the rustic venue and united the fresh flowers and antique tableware.

We chose a colour palette of matte gold, dusty purple and bordeaux to compliment the surroundings and stunning Italian venue.  The rich tone red wine shades were the obvious choice for an autumnal feel and was used as a complimenting colour for the wax seals and within the flowers.  For a soft, glamorous feel we chose to use matte gold for the elegant décor items which is also picked up in the detailed gold embroidery on the bridal gown.  We used a dusty purple shade to complement the rich shades, with a lighter gold as the base colour for the stationery, tableware and runner and the main colour focal point for the bouquet and flowers.

For the bouquet and floral design we used dusty purple roses for an elegantly chic look, combined with Eucalyptus leaves which added texture, movement and a rustic feel. We included blackberries for a touch of richness to the bouquet.

Top tips for recreating this look

Balance – When choosing décor items, colour palettes and bridal gowns start off with everything together and remove items to make each element stand out on their own.

Movement– We consciously incorporated movement with the use of eucalyptus in the flower arrangements and the designs of the dresses we chose. The mermaid style of the dress had sleeves and a hem that fluttered beautifully in the breeze.

Respect nature – Respecting the wonderful natural location that surrounded the vineyard, we tried to emphasis the charm and beauty of the environment as much as possible.
