Clean & Elegant Sage Green Wedding Inspiration at Thicket Priory
This clean and elegant sage green wedding inspiration shoot at B.LOVED Edit venue Thicket Priory is the ultimate inspiration for your spring wedding, captured by Jane Beadnell Photography.
There’s a reason Thicket Priory is one of our favourite venues (see the venue tour here) set amongst 18 acres of grounds with a private lake, boat house and even a helipad it really has the wow factor! This exclusive venue in Yorkshire offers a modern take on a traditional, with exposed original architectural features and bespoke furnishings. With this in mind stylist Ambience York wanted to create a design that reflected the opulence surroundings whilst also complimenting the natural aesthetics of the Ballroom where the shoot took place.
THE STYLING
The Ballroom itself has lots of natural light so we incorporated a tran-seasonal, fresh colour palette with shades of green and white as well as subtle accents of dusky blue and gold to lift the look. Sage green is tipped to be a huge trend so we introduced this with coloured linens, candles and again in the detailing on the 5-tier cake and within the floral elements.
Banquet style dining is making a big comeback so we opted for a feasting styled layout adorned with stunning unstructured florals, pops of white and a show stopping cake that was staged in the centre of the design, outlined with dramatic levels of candlelight.
Our model wore gowns from Willowy by Watters and Stella York, styled with relaxed and modern hair and a gold smokey eye.
The wedding cake by Blossom Tree Cake Company featuring handmade sugar flowers with white Icelandic poppies, pompom dahlia, rose, succulents, sea holly thistle and eucalyptus to compliment the shoot colours of sage green, white and gold.
THE COLOURS
The colour palette was sage greens with hints of gold. Creating a very natural look. Its timeless, elegant and super romantic.
THE FLORALS
We used lots of seasonal foliage mixed with plenty of textured blooms to give a really natural look.
Using lots of different textured foliage (such as eucalyptus, olive, senecio) helps to keep everything natural, with movement, as does smaller headed flowers mixed with larger ones. What you don’t want is a big clumpy bouquet that’s really structured! Asparagus fern is one of my favourites, it instantly adds a softer touch if used sparingly.
