Elegant Springtime Wedding Inspirations at Laurent Lourensford
Spring is in the air today as we share this beautiful wedding inspiration shoot by Photographer Claire Nicola at the light and luminous Laurent Lourensford in South Africa. A brilliant mix of elegance and modern details, Claire and her team have lots of ideas to share with you today! Here she is to tell us more about the shoot and how you can make this work for your own Spring wedding! “We’re inundated with the new and unseen on a daily basis, but can anyone really deny the innate knowledge of having looked upon a classic? This feeling was the inspiration behind our recent styled shoot. There are so many facets to elegance, as well as to what an elegant wedding would look like. We wanted to bring together the elements we felt embodied that notion, and create a new version of the classic idea. An inspiration for couples wanting a wedding day that would leave room for individuality, but remain refined.
Our color scheme was a combination of soft blues, bold blacks, then white and gold to add a neutral base to make the first two pop! The florals by Lavishly Done were artfully arranged to be structured, yet appear somewhat loose and wild. An English country garden is always structured to perfection, but ultimately, the vines make their own way across this canvass, and the result – like with our arrangements – is simple perfection. The wedding cake we used was something of a dare! Whilst black is not generally the color used for icing a wedding cake, we felt that we could risk this exciting shade with Sweetarts and still maintain the idea of the traditional confection by using three tiers and styling it with intricate ruffles and petals.”
