Since launching Flourish & Prosper last year, I’ve been asked to speak and style at a number of workshops and events in the UK & beyond.  While sharing pretty inspiration on BLOVED is, and always will be my, first love I have to admit that I am also really enjoying my new role; sharing my experiences and insights into the wedding industry with new – and established – wedding professionals.

On April 8th and 9th 2015, I’m excited to be both speaking and teaching at the European Wedding Congress hosted at Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche, a beautiful castle in the Netherlands.  This year it’s a wedding photographers and planner/stylists special, and joining me on the podium will be US-based international wedding photographer Jasmine Star, US-based international fine art photographer KT Merry, Ireland based international stylists Pearl & Godiva.

Fine Art Photographer and Founder of EWC, Anouschka Rokebrand, says

“The goal of the event is to create an open atmosphere where businesses can share ideas, chat about subjects that are current in the industry and be inspired when returning home. A place where the industry gathers and will raise the bar for the entire industry. To be inspired by speakers who touch us all, who inspire us and who give us that little push to take our business to the next level.”

Getting your work published with Louise Beukes of BLOVED (that’s me!)

In an increasingly competitive industry getting your work in front of potential customers is key, so I will be sharing my own tips and advice for getting your work featured in the right places. I’ll be covering what to submit (including tips for creating a bloggable styled shoot) and where, what bloggers are looking for in real weddings, the submissions process (including how to make your submission stand out) and how to use your coverage as a PR and marketing tool.

Finding YOU in your work with Pearl & Godiva

Pearl & Godiva would like to challenge you with questions to think about when you get back home. They’ll be talking about timeless beauty, defining beauty, originality and unearthing sources of creativity. And most importantly: finding the YOU in your work.

How to create a wedding business with Jasmine Star

If the path to your career/passion is anything like Jasmine Star’s, you’ll realize friends, peers and family can turn into the greatest marketing force in a young business.  Leaving UCLA Law School with no money – and no camera! –  decided to pursue photography and turned to the internet for a home-spun education.  In just a couple years, Jasmine became one of the most sought-after wedding photographers in the United States, garnering awards for her work along the way.

The art of collaboration with KT Merry

Sharing years of experience photographing destination weddings on film, KT Merry will share her journey into shooting destination weddings and the art of collaboration. Pick up tools to get the most out of your creative relationships, getting published in todays competitive market as well as learn how staying inspired, taking on new adventures and gaining exposure go hand in hand. In this hour long presentation she will bring you into her world of photography without borders and get you thinking about the big picture.

Styling Workshop with Louise Beukes Styling

I will be teaching a full day styling workshop, looking in detail at what goes in to creating a shoot, and sharing my advice for designing and organising a successful shoot for publication in print or online. Attendees will be split into groups, each responsible for creating a design plan for the fashion, reception table setting or dessert station based on a set theme.  In the afternoon you will get to bring your concept to life with the help of a team of expert wedding professionals and photographed by a professional photographer, providing fresh new images for your portfolio.

*** BLOVED READER EXCLUSIVE The theme for my workshop is inspired by Delft pottery, using cool shades of powder blue and grey, with pattern and delicate oyster and pearl details ***

Branding Workshop with Jasmine Star

The workshop will be a full day of branding, specifically focused on the Eight Components of Creating a Brand.  Jasmine goes into depth about personal decisions she made to cultivate and foster her growing business. The day will be filled with the steps she took to start her business, branding components, how she markets her business, and a live shoot (all photos you take can be used in your portfolio).

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
