fab find #11: brooch bouquets {vintage magpie}

A few weeks ago I stumbled across the beautiful blustery wedding of Jane & Chris on the wonderful English Wedding blog, and fell in love with this stunning brooch bouquet.  Always a sucker for original details, I contacted photographer, Jane from McAvoy Photography who captured the day, for a bit more information!

Not only was the bride’s bouquet a creative keepsake, it has such an intimate and personal story behind it that I just had to share!  Made by the exceptionally talented Emma over at Vintage Magpie, it combines rich purple ribbon roses with fabric and buttons from the  mother-of-the-bride’s wedding dress, the bridesmaids dresses and pieces of family jewellery.  Isn’t it just stunning?!

Sourcing the perfect items for each bride, every Vintage Magpie bouquet is totally unique, a vintage alternative to the traditonal floral bouquet.  A brooch bouquet is such a great way to add a personal touch to your day, an opportunity to include jewellery and heirlooms from family and loved ones, and of course you get to keep it for a lifetime, unlike fresh flowers!  Every bouquet is made with care & skill.  Handmade, hand sewn, unique and beautifully vintage.

Emma loves to use vintage buttons, fabrics, crystal and jewellery to create something new and wonderful. Creating timeless heirloom quality works of art which can be handed down to daughters, and granddaughters. Her bouquets are perfect for destination weddings as they are easy to pack in your luggage. They are also very eco friendly as most items in Vintage Magpie’s bouquets have been re-cycled and re-worked to create something new and uniquely beautiful.

Fallen in love with the idea of a brooch bouquet, but don’t have the time for a bespoke option?  Vintage Magpie also releases a collection of 3 to 5 unique bouquets every two or three months in their Etsy store, which are ready to walk down the aisle with you.  So, Cinderella, you shall go to the ball!

You can also visit Emma at Martin & The Magpie florists in Hungerford, Berkshire.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
