I’m sure I’m not alone in my love for spring – after a long, cold winter it’s so refreshing to have a change. And not just because the evenings are getting lighter and summer’s on its way, but also because it opens up a whole new wealth of possibilities when it comes to wedding style.

Gone are the dark colours and drama of winter and in are the fresh, soft colours of a new season. If you’re planning a spring wedding – or even just want some inspiration for a party, celebration or elaborate lunch – then this beautiful fresh mint and forest green spring wedding inspriation shoot captured by Plenty to Declare Photography and styled to perfection by Alexandria Events will give you some serious food for thought.

Our photographer, Daria, first introduced me to the venue, Hampden House. It is a unique wedding venue as it is primarily, a family home, and only hold a limited number of weddings per year. It is a very special place, and a perfect venue for a couple who want something a little bit different.

One of my favourite things about the whole place is that they have a church on-site, so the bride and groom can walk their guests to their wedding reception. The dining room at Hampden House is very unique, and has beautiful murals on the walls, so we wanted our shoot to compliment that, as opposed to work against it.

We decided to keep the colours very natural and soft, and overall wanted it to look like ‘we brought the outside in’. Our colour palate consisted of a spectrum of greens, from pale sage and soft mint, to deeper, forest colours. We also had splashes of peach, gold, and pink. The pink came through beautifully with an incredible display of cherry blossom from Floribunda Rose.

Another important feature for us was the cakes and sweet treats! We wanted to make each one look like a piece of art, as well as something yummy to eat. Again, the shades of the cakes complimented the overall colour scheme, and a mixture of intricate design, and rustic texture, fitted perfectly with out ‘indoor/outdoor’ feel.

One aspect of of shoot which can definitely be re-created, is the circular table plan – all you need is a hula hoop, gold paint, and some ribbon!

That’s one DIY we’d LOVE to see you try out!

One of our BLOVED interns for 2015, Leanne loves style in all its various forms and spends much of her free time (when she’s not busy writing!) researching the latest fashion, beauty and interior trends (mostly thanks to her Pinterest addiction!) and loves testing out new beauty products or shopping for quirky new additions to her home.
