Fun & relaxed wedding photography from Helen Strong Photography
Morning lovely ones! Another week almost over, seriously, where has the year gone?!
I’m very lucky to share and showcase the work of some of the best suppliers in the wedding industry here on b.loved. I especially love getting to know my sponsors and hearing about their most recent weddings. Today, I’d like you to meet Helen from Helen Strong Photography. A wedding and portrait photographer based in Dorset, Helen specialises in fun and relaxed photography with personality, and shoots weddings all over the South of England. She studied photography at University, and knew after graduating this would be the perfect career to combine with her love of meeting new people and travelling.
Here’s more about her style ~
My approach to wedding photography is very natural, I love to capture the interaction between a couple and the candid, beautiful moments, where people don’t realise you are there. I also like to have a bit of fun with my couples to help them relax and capture their personalities! I enjoy telling a story through my images, I love everything about weddings, the apprehension, the excitement, the laughter and tears, the way family & friends come together, the tiny little details and the love and the celebration!
My style is… Relaxed , a little quirky and alternative, fun!
I’m inspired by… my experiences and travels, the wonderful creative people I meet, magazines, contemporary graphics, Photography, film and art.
I loved photographing… my recent pre-wedding shoots, as the weather has just been amazing, and couples go from being a little nervous, to really enjoying being in front of the camera! I also cherish the photos of my daughter and of my travels.
Trends I love right now… I love the amazing graphic work that is around, especially with bespoke stationers! The colour schemes that are around this summer for weddings are just beautiful, I love grey & coral and I’m shooting a wedding in August with this scheme, very excited!
I admire… I adore Jenny Packham, Joanne Fleming and Claire Pettibone dresses, they make me want to get married again!! I love country and shabby chic style, so I guess Cath Kidston has to come under there somewhere, I love the graphic design work from Print Smitten.
I love my job because… of the wonderful opportunities it brings and the lovely people I meet and get to know. I feel very honoured to be able to record such amazing times in people’s lives.
Weddings make me… very excited and happy. They always conjure up the emotions that I felt on my wedding day, I genuinely share all the feelings they have; apprehension, happiness, elation! I feel very privileged to be involved in one of the most important days of a couple’s life!
My advice for couples planning their wedding is… Try to stay within budget and really shop around before you commit to buying anything, as there are many bargains to be had without necessarily compromising on style or quality! Set up pinterest boards for inspiration!
