inspiration board #17: modern romance

Good morning wedding beauties! Hope you all enjoyed the weekend? I spent some time down by the river with my family who are over from Cape Town, and caught up on some much needed ‘blogmin’ to ensure these pages are filled with prettiness and inspiration over the next few months for you!

Since her fairytale wedding to Prince William earlier in the year, The Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton, she’ll always be that to me!) has become even more of a style icon.  And when she stepped out at The ARK Gala last month in this STUNNING pink, glittery Jenny Packham number, I’m sure you could hear me gasp all the way from Australia!  Jenny Packham is, like, most my favourite designer ever, the modern silhouettes, the beautiful intricate detailing.  Sigh.  Simply gorgeous.

Ever since then I have wanted to do an inspiration board styled around Kate’s dress, the fairytale modern romance, and today, here it is!  Soft and pretty, rose and blush tones accented with soft metallic pewter and antique golds. It’s unashamadly girly, with the delicate metallics balancing out the pink to create a super stylish look.  Dusky pink and ivory florals, with silvery dusty miller leaves.  Layered and ruffled fabrics keep the look light and fresh, and what fairytale bride could resist a liberal coating of fairy dust with glitter and sequin confetti?!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
