inspiration board #33: black lace

Good morning! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend?!

I’m still recovering from the launch party of a new and fabulous (& perfectly intimate) venue Fetcham Park, which I was lucky enough to attend yesterday!  Along with some of the industry’s finest, we were treated to a stunning catwalk show with gorgeous gowns from Emma at Miss Bush Bridal, the champagne flowed and the delicious canape’s appeared from all directions.  A big thank you to the whole team, affectionately known as the ‘Fetcham Foxes’, these ladies pulled of an absolutely stunning afternoon.  Keep your eyes open as there will definitely be more news coming up on Fetcham Park in the next few weeks!

Back to today, and it’s Halloween! I couldn’t let the day pass without a fabulous black & lace inspiration board! With just a touch of gothic influence, this combination would be perfect for a classic wedding any time of year, but especially relevant to this time of year.  We’ve been seeing a lot of black and nude dresses gracing the catwalk in the new 2012 collections from couture designers like Vera Wang and Rosa Clara, for the bold and brave bride a black dress would definitely make a statement! For the more traditional bride, how about adding a touch of on trend black lace to create a striking feature, such as an asymetric shoulder detail, or a simple black sash?  I adore these black and nude Jimmy Choo’s perfect for that unexpected detail peeking out from under your dress, and a bridal show you would so wear again!  Carrying the lace detail through into the decor with votives, lace tied brooch bouquets creates a cohesive scheme, and a touch of beautiful calligraphy on the stationery and paper goods adds that final gothic touch.

Join me later on today for an extra special post… will it be trick, or treat?!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
