inspiration board #34: modern vintage glamour
Good morning everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I’m sure you were snuggled up in your warmest knits for some spectacular fireworks displays this weekend!
Today’s inspiration board is a little taster of something coming up on Bijoux Bride a little later this week (tomorrow, infact!) that I am just so excited to share with you! I love the decadence and glamour of the 1920’s and 30’s, and taking inspiration from this era is a beautiful way to create a timeless, classic wedding. The colours and mood of this board make it perfect for a winter wedding, lots of soft white and bold black with bright pops of red for cheering up those chilly nights, but you could easily swap the red out for pink & purple tones to create a more summery look for your wedding day. Think about subtle ways to bring colour into your bridal outfit too, a bright flash of colour underneath your dress is a nod to the contemporary, whilst still capturing the fun and fashion of the 20’s. Anemones, orchids and fluffy white roses make the perfect floral statement for this style of wedding, display in vintage silverware and crystal-cut vases for an authentic touch. The dress, of course is centerpiece of this look, choose something slinky and satin with an element of beautiful beaded embellishment either on the dress itself or in your accessories. Designers such as Jenny Packham, Johanna Johnson and Caroline Atelier combine the beautiful lines and fabrics of this era with a modern twist, creating some of the most truly beautiful collections for the vintage bride.
