inspiration board #49: par avion

Good morning peeps!  Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend, what have you all been up to?!  On Friday evening I celebrated some exciting achievements from the week with a few glasses of bubbles!  First of all b.loved gained a place in BrideTide’s Top 100 Wedding Blogs, and secondly we made it into the UK’s Top 100 Wedding Tweeters (straight in at number 40!) The rest of my weekend was spent busily scheduling some fabulous content for the next few weeks, as at the beginning of March I am off to South Africa for a couple of weeks :)  It’s our first proper break since our honeymoon last year, and I am sooooo excited to be heading back to Cape Town, my favourite place in the world!  In anticipation of my travels, this week’s all about travel and destination weddings on b.loved!  I’ll be sharing some travel-themed inspiration, styling ideas for a destination wedding and some beautiful weddings and shoots from two countries that mean an awful lot to me.  Stay tuned for all the gorgeousness coming your way!

We’re starting off the week with some airmail-themed inspiration.  Navy and red are striking colours for a wedding, especially one with a retro air-travel feel.  An airhanger or airfield venue would be a fabulous location for this style of wedding!  The elegant navy, white and blue are brought to life with vibrant, but classic pops of red.  I love the idea of a cute paper airplane save the date, like this cute DIY from Martha Stewart, a lovely way to introduce your theme in a playful way to your unsuspecting guests!  Continue the airmail theme with stamped luggage tags for your place cards and dessert table display too.  Bridesmaids in smart navy dresses compliment groomsmen in matching suits with coordinating red ties, braces and sashes to liven their outfits .  Don’t you just love the navy dress from Sarah Seven?  The image could even be taken at an airfield, the long grass bending beneath the jetstream of another plane coming in to land.  Of course, no retro wedding would be complete without a fabulous car, how about this retro-fabulous red buick spotted on Bridal Bar?!

Are you having a retro-travel themed wedding? I would LOVE to hear all about it!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
