inspiration board #66: blue belles

Hello wonderful readers!  How was your weekend? A little different from the Jubilations and celebrations of the one before no doubt!  For me, this weekend was about a work / life balance, splitting time between preparing this week’s gorgeous content (oh my, is it gorgeous!) and visiting family in the New Forest, a place where time seemingly stands, still and peace, quiet and nature seem very alive after weeks in the city.

Today we’re celebrating a little bit of that countryside calm with a fresh, rustic inspiration board.  Blue may be an unusual colour to pick for an overall wedding scheme, but this palette of soft indigo, violet, slate and bluebell make a beautiful modern combination.  The pale powder blue of these bridesmaids dresses from Little Borrowed Dress, are the perfect backdrop for loose, hand-tied bouquets of fresh spring flowers, including purple delphiniums, brodiaea and viburnam berries lend an informal, just-picked feel and you could  include hand-picked herbs to the centre pieces for a devine scent.  Add to the rustic vibe by displaying blooms in  a row of mismatched bottles and vases along your table, a mix of blue and green glass and ceramic.  Use accents of slate and zinc, and handwritten signs in chalk add to the relaxed feel, this zine tag from Rowen & Wren would make the perfect rustic place holder.  A home baked and buttercream iced cake topped with fresh blueberries, and a cheese selection sitting on a rough slate board create a warm and homely feel to a dessert table, get guests to help themselves!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
