inspiration board #69: game, set & match

Morning lovelies! How have you all been enjoying your weekend?  Of course here in Wimbledon this week is tennis week, and the weather is predictably as changeable the scores with rain one minute and 28 degrees sunshine the next!  After the shocking defeat of Nadal by little known Lukas Rosol last week (if you’re not yet married go check him out ;)) I have suddenly become interested in what’s going on!  Scanning the watching crowds, especially those in the boxes suitably dressed for the occasion, got me thinking about a tennis-inspired wedding.  Well, strawberries and champagne are the perfect companion to a summer celebration!

To set the tone, a suite of modern green invites give just the slightest hint of what’s to come, I love the typography and chevrons in this elegant suite from Richie Designs, spotted on my favourite wedding paper blog Oh So Beautiful Paper.   And I love the idea of coordinating your ‘maids in pretty green and white chevron dresses too! A summery palette of strawberry reds, grass green and sunshine yellow are a gorgeous combination used in both your bouquet and arrangements along your reception tables, incorporating fresh yellow centred daisies, green grasses and pink and red dahlias and other summery blooms (just ask your florist what’s in season).  Shoot your couple portraits on an empty tennis court, with vintage tennis rackets and a few balls for details, and have some fun!  Check out this beautiful styled shoot from Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine for more inspiration!  Complete your own outfits with a pair of cute but casual All Stars (perfect for dancing the night away!).  Finally, no tennis-themed celebration would be complete without strawberries and cream! Treat your guests to strawberry cheesecake cupcakes (check out the ones I made last month, here, using a delicious Hummingbird Bakery recipe) and a cute punnet of strawberries makes the sweetest favour.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
