inspiration board #88: winter warmer

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! December sure knows how to announce itself, what a cold weekend! Out came the hat, gloves and scarf and I doubt I’ll be putting them away any time soon.  Do you love the cold, or do you prefer the warmth of a sunny day? Perhaps I can tempt you to change your mind with today’s winter warmer wedding inspiration?  More and more couples are realising the chilly days of the  wedding ‘off’ season, from November to February, can be such a romantic time of year to get married!

First up, you’ve got to wrap up warm, forget flimsy pashmina’s, and go for cosy knits.  I am so in love with the Helsinki head wrap from BHLDN, bringing a touch of snow day chic to your look.  Pair with knitted gloves for you and your bridesmaids to keep those fingers warm while showing off your bouquets, and team the cutest little winter boots with pretty white tights!  A beautiful white blanket is the perfect accessory for a few cosy and romantic couple shots too.

For flowers, add a touch of rustic luxe to the purest white flowers, pinecone bouquets dusted with a sprinkling of sparkle.  For white winter wedding flowers, try peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, snowberries, carnations and gardenia for gorgeous textures, and consider eucalyptus, dusty miller, green ivy and birch twigs to add an elegant touch of soft silvery grey.

Make the most out of your favours, giving each guest a beautifully wrapped gift tied with a big bow.  For a midnight treat, serve marshmallows ready to toast!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
