inspiration board #90: january blues

Hello lovely wedding ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend? I’m sure, like me, many of you have been dismantling the Christmas decorations around your home. It feels a little bare doesn’t it?  With the rich festive reds and golds, glitter and sparkle behind us, January is a month for pared-back elegance and simplicity.  So for my first inspiration board of the year I created something that banishes January blues, and embraces the winter chill, bare branches and soft romance of the season.

Using a palette of cool muted blues and grey with touches of golden honey and blush, this look has a touch of rustic elegance and warmth.  This is the perfect time of year to embrace a coloured wedding dress, nude chiffon or a be-sqeuinned blue gown add warmth or glamour to your bridal look.  Pale-hued flowers, white iris’s, pale blush roses, blue hydrangea created an understated and refined look, paired with touches of natural materials, foliage and bare branches.  Crystal accessories add reflection and glamour without being over the top bling, whilst kraft and satin add texture and tone.  Finish your day with a beautiful  cake decorated with delicate paper-thin roses, I love the cool fading blue tiers of this subtle ombré creation.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
