inspiration board #94: an english rose

Morning brides! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend?! I was working on a shoot over in France with some very talented friends, creating some stunning shots that I am literally bursting to share (if you follow me on twitter or instagram you might already have seen a sneak peek or two!).  In between the shoot, we got a chance to relax and enjoy some wedding banter, open log fires and of course copious amounts of wine, pure bliss!! I hope your weekend’s have been just as successful!!

This week I’ve come over all demure, creating this prettily pink mood board inspired by a traditional English wedding, with a b.loved twist!  Of course, the classic English rose features heavily, represented in the the slightly kitsch and chintzy floral stationery (how gorgeous!) and even the pattern on the china.  Whether combined with astilbe and dusty miller for a pale pink and textured centrepiece, or with bolder green foliage and hot pink roses like this stunning bouquet from Martha Stewart Weddings that tumbles to one side adding a modern edge to the arrangement.  I also love the use of fresh flowers to decorate this otherwise plain three-tier iced cake, the floral ‘cake stand’ being one of my favourite wedding details for a flower-lover!  A timeless lace dress, with demure capped sleeves is a pretty look for this style of wedding, where you may be celebrating inside and out, keeping the British chill off your shoulders as well as adding detail and texture to your look.  I love a good patterned bridesmaids dress too, how about a pastel-y floral number keeping the look young and fresh, think summer garden party!  Finally, the ‘English Rose’ cocktail named after the Duchess of Cambridge, is a perfectly pink colour to match!!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
