inspiration board #96: mod monochrome

Happy Monday wedding lovers! What a gorgeous weekend! I went to visit my mum, which meant home cooking (yum!) and lots of prep for the London Wedding Emporium in a couple of weeks time. Why not come visit me there, see what I’ve got in store for you, and find some cool and contemporary ideas and suppliers for your big day?!
All the gorgeous sunshine inspired me to create a fun and fresh mood board this week, inspired a little by the fashion trend for sixties retro and monochrome (check out Louis Vuitton SS13). A black & white monochrome colour palette and a splash of mustard yellow keeps the look young and contemporary. Think beehive hairstyles and bold eyeliner, teamed with flirty short prom dresses, and colour splash accessories (I love this bright bow!). A cute little clutch bag and a blusher veil keep the sixties vibe. Keep your guests guessing with a simple black and white invite and surprise them at your reception bringing in some colour – how cool are these paper chains?! I’m still loving the dessert table trend, and this slick and elegant version certainly gets my vote. And to round off the day? Why not take a leaf from weddings of days gone by with an early get away – with this cute beetle you’ll leave in style!
