Lavender & Honey: The Details
Yay! It’s time for another instalment of our Lavender & Honey Style Guide. Last week we swooned over the Mediterranean influences on this look, with touches of lavender and a summery palette of soft, buttery yellows and sweet lilac and lavender shades making it a beautiful choice for a countryside wedding (whether the fields of Provence, or somewhere closer to home!).
Liz from Bluesky Flowers created an delicate ethereal bouquet comprising sunny yellow freesia, lilac sweet peas and scabious, sweet avalanche roses, ivory antirrhinum with nodding heads of purple aquilegia nestled within fluffy stems of asparagus fern. We added long lengths of honey, lavender and white organza ribbons to bring the whole look to life and really pop against the crisp white dress.
How much do you LOVE this cake? The insanely talented Karen from Karenanna Cakes came up with this sweet creation using a lavender buttercream for a soft summery and rustic look. The smooth sides keep the design fresh and crisp, with those pretty petals adding a wildly romantic twist! The different height tiers give a modern look, while the white lace is a nod to tradition, a perfect combination in my eyes! Beautiful all on its own or with the addition of a few small fresh flowers this cake is grand enough to stand alone, or make a pretty addition to a rustic table filled with other treats, perhaps some lavender shortbread and a sweet honey cake.
The gorgeous Catharine at Itty Bitty & Bijou created a perfectly elegant stationery suite in coordinating shades. The dotted borders give just enough detail and add a really pretty touch to the overall suite. Our printable DIY’s from the suite will be available this afternoon, so don’t forget to check back around 2pm!
