Liesl & JC’s pretty vintage wedding
Happy Tuesday wedding lovers! Such a pretty real wedding to share today from the lens of Shireen Louw. Liesl & JC’s vintage-inspired celebration combines a pastel palette of pink and lilac with antique silver, pearls and lace, adorning every detail from Liesl bouquet (which, by the way I LOVE!) to the elegant table centres. I love how they scattered rose petals on the dance floor in front of their sweetheart table for a romantic touch. Liesl’s Lady Marmalaide dress was designed for dancing, with the fishtail train adding some gorgeous movement as she walks down the aisle, and later in the day, twirling on the dance floor !
Liesl & JC’s story ~
Our love story started 9 years ago…in October 2003… My now-husband’s cousin set up a blind date for us. From the first moment we saw each other…we knew there was something different…something lasting! And who knew that we would be married 9 years later, and happier than ever!!!
We got engaged on the 11th of March 2012 – after so many years-my patience was running out – JC wannted to finish his studies first. He took me to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the most beautiful, sunny day! We walked around enjoying each other’s company…after about an half an hour he threw out the picnic blanket and we sat there overlooking the breathtaking view…next moment he moved in behind me and held me around my waist-whispering “U know I love you, right?”… “Will you be my wife??” I started laughing and giggling, because my dream has finally realised!! Between it all I said yes a few times and the rest is history.
My favourite part of the day was walking into the church, the build-up to that moment!
What was your first dance and how did you choose the song?
Michael Bublé – Crazy Love: We both enjoy Michael Bublé’s style of music, it has a very romantic feel to it and we’ve danced to this song a few times!
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
Just try to enjoy every moment of the planning! And remember the day is after all about the bride and groom and how you experience it ,the guests are also there for you! Also try to put your personal touch into the decor! Try planning everything well in advance,so you don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself close to your special day!
