Love in the Dunes: Sho + Taylor

At B.LOVED, we love a good location engagement shoot. Sho and Taylor are high school sweethearts. They met in 2009 at Bishop Eustace Prep in South Jersey. This is their story…

Sho’s Nostalgic Proposal

Taylor’s brother and his family now live at her former family home where Taylor and Sho had their first kiss back when they were sixteen. Awwwwwwwww.

In December 2019, Sho and Taylor drove over to Taylor’s brother’s house after a holiday party. When they arrived at the house, Sho asked Taylor if she wanted to take a picture at the spot where they first kissed. They walked over to the spot and Sho got down on one knee … to tie his shoe!

Six months later, Taylor’s brother casually asked Taylor to come over to his house. She jumped at the offer, eager to see her family after months in quarantine. When Taylor arrived, Sho pulled up and walked Taylor across the street to the same spot where they had taken the picture the previous year. Sho got down on one knee (again). However, this time he popped the question (YAY). And Taylor said … YES!

A Shoot in the Dunes

Taylor and Sho love to travel. So when photographer, Alain Martinez, suggested that the couple do a location shoot for their engagement session, they were totally onboard!

Alain suggested a beautiful desert in Southern California. The shoot took place at the Glamis Sand Dunes where the couple clearly had lots of fun. We think this shines through in these magical photos.

Huge congratulations on your engagement, Sho & Taylor!! We hope you never lose your adventurous spirit <3

Key Tips

  • For couples photography sessions, make sure that you work with a photographer who takes the time to get to know you as this will be reflected in the images.
  • Don’t be afraid to shoot on location. Mother nature has created some of the best sets available. A dramatic natural backdrop can make for a striking and unforgettable engagement shoot.
  • If you are recently engaged and looking to plan an engagement session, take a look at B.LOVED’s Advice About Planning Your Engagement Session.
