love shoot #16: sunkissed {cynthia & dali}

Today I’m having a mini-celebration on Bijoux Bride, as this little blog has been up and running for three months today!   Three months already, where did the time go?  Don’t even get me started on the fact we are half way through 2011 already!  I’m happy to say, what started off as  just a couple of posts a week to satisfy my wedding lust, has turned into a labour of love and lots of exciting projects coming up over the summer that I can’t wait to share with you!  I have also met a whole heap of gorgeous wedding-obsessed people who I am super excited to be working with.  Not to mention you lovely brides who read, comment and email me, you make my day!

So, today I have a  little treat in store for you.   A double-deluxe treat!  Not one, but two shoots from the completely fabulous duo Jessica & Jason from A Brit & A Blonde.  Jason (the Brit) and Jessica (the blonde) are a fun and creative husband & wife team, lucky enough to live and work in beautiful Costa Rica and travel to shoot destination weddings all over!  Jessica recently sent me over Cynthia & Dali’s engagement shoot & wedding in St Maarten.  They had their engagement pics on the French side, and tied the knot on the Dutch side of the island.

Let’s dive straight into their engagement shoot this morning, sweet and sunkissed, it’s got me dreaming of a island holiday paradise!

Their proposal story is super sweet, and such a great idea!

Dali and I have become great friends, we met online and got along really well right away. He proposed on a trip in St. Maarten 2 years ago, and it took me completely by surprise!
Dali searched for my ring size for months because he didn’t know that rings could be resized (I don’t usually wear rings). So his friend suggested he propose with a candy or toy ring and then we could shop for the ring together. He bought a candy ring, and couldn’t find a ring box, no one would sell him an empty ring box. His friend ended up giving him a ring box from his daughter. But then the candy ring wouldn’t fit, so he went searching for a toy ring. The only heart shaped toy ring he could find  was part of a large princess set, so he bought the entire set and threw it away so I wouldn’t suspect just to get the ring! He proposed in a gazebo on the beach one evening.

Join me this afternoon for Cynthia & Dali’s intimate beach wedding celebration!

Louise

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
