love shoot #25: homespun love {maria & richard}

Sometimes, you may wonder why I post engagement shoots here on Bijoux Bride.  Is it to encourage you to consider doing an e-shoot of your own? Or is it to introduce fabulous photographers to you, who will beautifully capture your day? Well, it is both of these.  But mostly it’s to remind you (and me) of why you’re getting married in the first place. LOVE!

My first thought when Christina of Brosnan Photographic submitted these images of Maria and Richard, was one of capturing love.  A Chicago girl, who fell in love with an Irish boy, and moved to Ireland to be with him, Christina is the perfect photographer to capture your love story.

These sweet & intimate images of Maria & Richard are the perfect reminder of love.  Just one look and you can tell they are totally and completely absorbed in one another, as if the camera isn’t even there.  Just the way it should be.

The shoot took place at Richard’s family home in Ireland, a beautiful rustic setting, where they will also have their wedding portraits taken.  They met five years ago in a local night club, and quickly discovered their paths had crossed before but never quite met, as Maria went to school in Richard’s village and even knew some of his friends from college.

We had our first date soon after that first meeting, and four hours in realised we hadnt stopped chatting once!  We got engaged last year on my 27th birthday in Hyde Park, on a gorgeous sunny day, Rich had managed to keep the ring hidden safely in his pocket for two days beforehand! He was so relieved not to have to carry it around once he proposed.

Isn’t Maria the most stunning red head?  She is going to make a very beautiful bride! They will be celebrating their love later this year with a pretty, traditional Irish wedding with lots of family and friends.  Good luck with the rest of your wedding plans you two, and I wish you a very happy love-filled family day!

Big thanks to Christina for sharing the love today!  Want more? You can see the most recently captured love stories on the Brosnan Photographic blog and website.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
