love shoot #38: stronger than ever {jamie & laura}

Morning everyone!  I know it’s Tuesday, and we’re all a little down about being back at work after the long weekend, but don’t worry as I have a wonderful shoot to share with you this morning!

As much as I love inspiring you lovely brides for your big day, it’s only really the first step on the journey of what I hope will be a long and happy marriage.  So, today I’m sharing an anniversary shoot!  I love this idea, life is busy and it’s all to easy to take your other half for granted.  So why not stop and take a moment to reflect, once a year, to remember why you fell in love in the first place, reconnect and celebrate your partnership?

Jamie & Laura’s anniversary shoot was submitted by Emma White, a passionate photographer who really captures the intimacy and closeness of her couples.  They decided to make their shoot extra-special by adding some beautiful styling by the talented Michele Gledhil,  I love the relaxed and intimate feel to these images, they remind me of a lazy summer’s afternoon.

I asked Emma to give us a little bit of background on the shoot ~

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jamie and Laura. This shoot was styled by the ever so lovely Michele Gledhill who went for a beautiful country French Chic style, with romantic lace design. The flowers were Hydrangeas, Roses, Stocks and Veronica in velvety purples and deep pinks. Jamie and Laura have been together for 9 years now and they got married in 2007 at St George’s Church in Brailes. Last year they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Bethany, who let me tell you is just adorable!

Laura also answered some questions for us about marriage and offered some great advice for brides-to-be ~

What advice would you give to a bride to be about her forthcoming wedding day?
I would say try to make the most of every moment, it goes so fast so try. Try and get rid of all your stresses on the day and enjoy spending time talking and being with your friends and family.

What is your secret to a happy marriage?
 Talking – It’s so important to communicate with each other talk things though and understand each other. Have evenings where you turn the TV off and play games or cook a nice meal and enjoy each others company.

What annoys you the most about your husband?
He puts salt on all my meals without trying it first, even when I have gone to a lot of effort to make it taste great!! But I guess we all have our faults ;)

What is the thing you most love about your husband?
The way he makes me smile with a look and the way he makes me laugh…oh and I love his dimples – I love him…

Thank you so much for sharing Laura & Jamie!  Congratualations on your four year anniversary, and here’s to many more!

I shall be doing my best to persuade Mr B to do an anniversary shoot next year, but how about you?!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
