love shoot #42: small & personal {jose & eric}

Hello lovelies!
I’ve got a gorgeous little intimate wedding for you today! The brilliantly talented Anouschka Rokebrand of Lifestyle Fotographie submitted this beautiful small and personal wedding, shot in The Hague, where I lived many years ago! I really admire Anouschka’s work, her images are clean and fresh, and her unobtrusive style means she captures every feeling and emotion perfectly. Just right for an intimate wedding!
I love how this couple kept things simple, Jose wore a sparkly short dress and held a sweet bouquet of blue springtime blooms, while Eric’s smart suit & tie combo adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the day. As their families live in different parts of the world, and some hadn’t even met before, they decided to hold the ceremony and reception in the same hotel as the guests were staying. After an intimate ceremony, they celebrated with their families over dinner hosted in a private room.

Some words from the beautiful bride (I have to say, doesn’t she have the most gorgeous fiery red hair?!)
Eric comes originally from the South of France and I am from The Netherlands, but we’ve both been living in Germany for some years. We met in 2005 during a salsa workshop in Germany and became dancing partners and friends. We danced regularly, but it took about three years before our relationship started!

In July 2010, Eric invited me out for a romantic dinner. He had arranged for us to have the restaurant all to ourselves so he could propose, so the staff had to keep all the other guests out on the terrace all evening! As we left the restaurant later on, everyone on the terrace looked at us with huge smiles! Of course I’d said yes!

The Hague is the city where I grew up and the first time Eric visited The Hague we stayed in this hotel. Hotel Des Indes is a hotel with a long history and just had the perfect ambiance for our wedding. It is full of colour and very stylish and had an intimate atmosphere for our small wedding. As we have different nationalities and our families are living over 1000 miles away from each other, we wanted to focus on some quality time for our families to get to know each other a bit better, this was one of the reasons we decided to keep our wedding small and personal.

Any advice for future brides?
Make it your day, whatever the size or venue

That’s great advice ladies, it might be hard when you’re planning your wedding, but at the end of the day its your wedding! Congratulations to Jose & Eric, keep on dancing together, and have a beautiful marriage!
