love shoot #56: trick or treat {suzanne & viseslav}
So, I promised you an extra special post this afternoon, so time to find out if it’s a trick or treat… of course it’s a treat. In the form of this very special Tim Burton inspired shoot from South African photographer Jani B. Bride to be Suzanne and her fiance Viseslav wanted an e-shoot with a difference and were inspired by an image in a magazine.

Tim Burton’s movies are surreal, strange and completely captivating, with wacky characters and a scary twist. Remember Edward Scissor Hands, Adams Family and Corpse Bride? I used to watch his movie The Nightmare Before Christmas every halloween. Dark, mysterious and misunderstood characters, taking on an adventure, a love story, and a happy ending!
Jani decided not to go too full-on with the Tim Burton theme (a little bit too out there for an engagement session all about love!) but used some of the ideas to create a unique and quirky set of images that I completely adore and are so appropriate for Halloweeen!

The shoot has a high fashion, editorial style but I love the way the rough textures and eclectic details take the polish off, creating something edgy and sultry, but with a soft, sparkly light making it feel romantic at the same time.

What do you think about an engagement shoot with a difference? It really goes to show that you don’t have to follow a trend when it comes to your engagement shoot, or your wedding for that matter! Find something you love and go for it, you never know you might end up with something as quirky, cool and romantic like this! Of course a big thank you to Jani B for sharing her work, check out some of her other shoots & weddings here. Enjoy the rest of your wedding planning Suzanne & Viseslav, I literally cannot wait to see what you come up with for your wedding!

I LOVE this ~ such a unique, beautiful location {and couple} stunning photography too! x
