love shoot #61: homemade vintage ~ part 2 {reuben & estelle}

Good afternoon :) I’m still beaming over this beautiful wedding I’m sharing today!  Reuben & Estelle’s cute & quirky wedding is full of handmade & sentimental details, emotion and love! If you missed Part One this morning, you will find all the gorgeous getting ready and emotional ceremony shots over here.

Apologies for the huge number of images, these shots from Blackbox Photography are stunning so I just can’t help but share them all, they each have an important part of the story to tell.

The bridal portrait photo’s are just so much FUN!  Formal, yet funky! I also, adore the autumnal feel of their couple shoot, with falling apples and a golden glow, they capture a quiet and intimate moment between the new husband & wife.

It was important to Reuben & Estelle to include lots of meaningful and pretty details, all handmade as far as possible.  They not only designed their own stationery, but Estelle made her own jewellery (helped by Reuben’s mum), designed her own veil and bespoke headpiece.  It was important for them to involve their loved ones in creating the special touches for their day, Estelle explains ~

We have a lot of talented friends and family and wanted them to be as involved as possible.  A friend helped me make the tablecloths and bunting and my aunt (who is a ceramic artist, Michelle Butler Ceramics) helped us make ceramic hearts for the guests’ favours.  Our friends made up a worship band for the ceremony while another friend entertained guests during the champagne reception in the gardens.  Reuben bought an old bicycle and did it up,  it featured in our engagement shoot so we brought it along to the wedding too.  I have an old dresser which we recycled and turned into a sweetie stall. It went down well with all the guests!

You’ve got to love a cricket playing bride!

The next set of golden images ooze romance!

At the end of the evening, the photographers set up a fun photobooth, with plenty of props it was enjoyed by the bride & groom and all the guests too!  There’s some serious attitude in these shots, LOVE!

What was your first dance?
Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are”.  We have a long list of songs that are special to us so we couldn’t decide. It was right before the band started to play that we decided on this song.  Thankfully the band were so talented it wasn’t a problem!

What a great choice, although I may be a little bit biased as that was the song we chose for our wedding too :)

Advice for other brides.
Don’t let others enforce the way they think your wedding should be. Be persistent! Accept ANY help that is offered during the planning.

Congratulations Reuben & Estelle!  After a whirlwind romance, welcome to the slower pace of married life!

Thank you to the talented duo from Blackbox Photography for sharing their stunning images of this beautiful day.  Louise & Lewis have a natural way of capturing the story of their couples, you can see more examples of their work over on their blog.

Louise

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
