love shoot #68: romantic beach wedding {nina & michael}

For those of you who have followed Bijoux Bride from the beginning, you will know that I absolutely adore the work of South African photographer Christine Meintjes. Her clean, modern yet romantic style continually blows me away, and her skill at caputuring those special moments make her an exceptional wedding photographer. I feel very lucky to have been able to book her as our wedding photographer, and often find myself reliving our day through her images.
Today I am ecstatic to share one of Christine’s recent weddings, a romantic and intimate beach wedding at Grootbos in South Africa. This is a short and sweet post, yet packed full of beautiful and inspirational details for any bride planning a small wedding. The beauty comes from pure simplicity, working with nature and the calm and serene personalities of this wonderful couple.

Nina and Micheal met 11 years ago, and after Michael proposed to Nina on a Christmas holiday in Bali, they dreamed of getting married on a beautiful beach on the coast of Africa. Grootbos provided the perfect location, hosting their ceremony on a private, secluded beach with just Christine and her husband Iaan witnessing their exchange of vows. They wanted a simple, natural and uncomplicated wedding for just the two of them, very relaxed and plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company. Planning their wedding from overseas, it was essential that the venue was able to take care of every detail. From organising the minister and evening meal for the newly-weds, to providing the gorgeous fynbos ceremony arch, a nod to the indigenous South African foliage abundant in the area, they helped create Nina and Michael’s dream day.

Hiring a great photographer was the most important consideration for Nina and Micheal. Christine’s photo’s capture the love and emotion that enabled their friends and families to be a part of their day.
