love shoot #41: a crown of roses {gill & jason}

Gooood morning wonderful readers! How are we all today?  I know my American friend’s are probably still recovering from the shock of being back at work after a long Labor Day weekend! For the rest of us I hope your week is going well, any exciting wedding plans or milestones being made this week?

Today’s engagement shoot is super sweet, I adore the crown of roses that bride to be Gill wears in some of the shots!  Photographer Lisa O’Dwyer made the little crown, and managed to convince groom Jason to bring along his guitar.   She even talked him into serenading Gill with ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by the lake.  They were both a little unsure at first, but soon relaxed into the shoot to show off what a cute couple they are!

Gill sent over a few words about their relationship so far ~

Jason and I met when we were just 17 through mutual friends. I actually ended up being his stand in date for his debs, as the girl he originally asked couldn’t make it!!  After that grew closer, and used to text each other 24/7!  Jason proposed to me in August 2010 on Grafton Street in Dublin. A few months after that we set our wedding date for 16th of June 2012. We are having the ceremony in my hometown Church in Greystones, Co. Wicklow and then going to the reception in the sunny South East; The Riverside Park in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.

We are so pleased we chose Lisa as our photographer, her work is just amazing. Our Engagement shoot took place in Trooperstown Wood and Glendalough in Co. Wicklow (where we are both from). Despite us both initially being reluctant to be photographed with a guitar and a crown made of roses, we now adore those photos and have shown them to family and friends who all want copies of them!

I just love the golden light in that last shot, dreamy!

Thanks so much to Gill & Jason for sharing their story.  I hope your wedding is every bit as sweet as you are!   Thank you also to Lisa O’Dwyer for submitting their shoot.  Lisa is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Ireland, with a creative fine art style.  To see more of her work, check out her blog and website!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.

I love natural engagement sessions that are personal and full of style – and photogr
