love shoot: home sweet home {rachael & john}

Good morning bridettes! How’s your week going so far?  I’m busy finalising all the details for The Pretty Blog’s wedding inspiration workshop at Beaufort House, London, in a couple of week’s time, if you’re planning your wedding and think you could do with some help, come and learn and be inspired by a talented team of friendly wedding professionals.

One of the best things about being a wedding blogger, other than getting to drown in prettiness practically all day long, is getting to meet and work with some of the most talented professionals in the industry.  Earlier this year I was lucky to be asked to collaborate on a shoot with exceptionally talented  photographer Chanelle, of Segerius Bruce Photography, a shoot so beautiful in fact that it’s in the current (July / August) issue of You & Your Wedding Magazine.  Now, I can’t share the images from that shoot with you just yet (soon, though I promise) but I can give you an insight into Chanelle’s beautiful work!  Chanelle shoots on both digital and film cameras, giving the flexibility of digital but the soft, romantic quality of film for specific shots.  The shoot I’m sharing today was all shot on Chanelle’s beloved medium format film camera, giving a dreamy quality to every image.

Some of you might recognise the lady in these photo’s too, as the lovely Rachael from A Chi Chi Affair.  A Chi Chi Affair started as a lifestyle and interiors inspiration before, before Rachael and John got engaged and she began sharing her wedding inspiration and planning story! Here’s Rachael with their story so far ~

John and I met about 6 years ago when we were set up by one of my friends boyfriends (now husband!) on a blind date. I have no idea why I decided to go but I’d been single for ages and once John starting emailing me I thought he sounded like a nice guy! He was!! About a year into our relationship I went on a work trip to Bolivia for a month – I missed him so much that when I came back, after a few months I officially moved into his flat. My flatmates at the time joke that I had left before that as between the time I came home from Bolivia and moving in they really didn’t see me much!

Five lovely years, and after more than a few hints from me (!) We were planning holidays and John mentioned Barbados. This was not the kind of holiday I had expected but kept quiet thinking he may have a plan up his sleeve!  We stayed in an absolutely gorgeous hotel and he proposed at a beautiful restaurant called The Cliff with the most perfect ring imaginable!  We’re now planning a City Chic wedding for July 2012 – I cant wait!!  We chose our home for our engagement shoot as I wanted something personal to us and we love entertaining in our kitchen and doing up our house. Its by no means finished but after the wedding we are looking forward to having a bit more time and funds to spend on it!

Rachael & John were married this Saturday at The Andaz Hotel, with Chanelle behind the lens!  Huge congratulations to you both, and I can’t wait to see the wedding photo’s of your very own Chi Chi Affair!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
