love shoot #59: modern vintage glamour {part 2}

Morning brides to be! How are you getting on with your wedding planning this week? I hope you are finding all the inspiration and ideas you are looking for!

Today I’m heading straight back to my gorgeous modern vintage glamour inspiration shoot, I shared two looks in Part One with you yesterday.  Part Two is a contemporary, edgy look.  We used the modern dress, Maude from Charlotte Casadejus at Luella’s Boudoir. This dress is completely unique, a true statement piece.  The flowing petals of the skirt and corseted body of the dress are undeniably contemporary, but beautiful touches of original vintage details at the waist and shoulder soften the dress and add an extra touch of sparkle.  With such a stunning piece to work with, we had to create a stunning look to match.

We decided to really go for it with the styling, big statement hair, black smokey eyes and blood red lips created an edgy look suitable for a modern princess.  The statement Divinity comb from the new Flo & Percy Magdalene collection, adds a bold, fashion-forward touch.

 Gayle from Bloomingayles showed her talent again, and designed a dramatic red and purple bouquet using the most devine velvety red roses and deep plum chrysanthemums, interweaved with berries.  Gayle and I then used these combinations to create a suitably striking and contemporary table setting, set off against a bright red table runner and using white etched and button vases from Rowen & Wren.

The icing on the cake (excuse the pun) was the stunning Art Deco “Tulip” cake from the uber-talented cake-tress Janet Mohapi-Banks.  Beautifully designed, the three tiers reference the architectural features of the 1920’s, completed with a bold red tulip motif adding a contemporary pop of colour.

The Brooklands Hotel kindly allowed us to shoot in their amazing honeymoon suite, complete with wrap around balcony that allowed us to make the most of the golden summer light.  The suite is finished with impeccable detail, these vintage suitcases making the perfect prop.

If you are considering a modern vintage wedding, with a touch of glamour I hope this shoot has provided you with some inspiration for creating your own day.  If there are any elements of the shoot you would like to know more about, then please get in touch with me or one of the team as we would be delighted to hear from you.

Once again a huge thank you to Team Brooklands,  a glamorous bunch of ladies who created an equally beautiful and glamourous shoot.  Each of these talented suppliers are on hand to help you create your dream day, whatever your style, and I cannot recommend them enough.  A special thank you to Anneli Marinovich for believing in my styling skills, and helping to pull together the creative team.  I think you’ll agree the images on this shoot say more than I can say about Anneli’s work, truly stunning.

Don’t forget to check back on Friday, when I’ll be sharing a little behind the scenes footage from our second shooter Yolande!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
