love shoot: peggy porschen parlour engagement shoot {miranda & alex}

From chicken coup fun, to the rather more sedate Peggy Porschen Parlour this afternoon as we say hello to Miranda and Alex’s cute engagement shoot by Photography by Krishanthi.  The parlour is possibly one of London’s prettiest spots, and it’s candy pink façade and pavement café seating make such a romantic backdrop for a city love shoot!

Alex and I met when we were Modern Languages students at Bristol University. Although we didn’t have any classes together, we noticed each other around the department, and we finally spoke properly for the first time on Valentines Day in our first year at the Lizard Lounge nightclub where we had our first kiss.  Afterwards we would occasionally bump into each other in between lectures and say hello, but never spoke long enough to get to know each other properly.  After we left university, Alex was working in Dubai and Madrid and I moved to London.  Every 6 months he would email me to find out how I was and what I was up to.  We tried to meet up a couple of times, but each time one of us would be out of the country.  Finally, 7 and a half years later, we arranged to meet up for a drink at my local pub on a warm summer’s evening.  We sat outside drinking a bottle of wine, and then we realised how much in common we had.  A couple of weeks later I met up with some friends and told them that I thought I’d met ‘the one’!

Alex had been working very long hours and so we decided to go to The Chewton Glen, a country spa hotel, in the New Forest for a long weekend.  He had already asked my parents’ permission to marry me in advance but it was not until the third, and last, night of our break that he decided to pop the question! We had had a delicious tasting menu at the restaurant and after having a night cap by the log fire, reclined to our room where Alex surprised me with a Tiffany box and a beautiful diamond solitaire.  I had had no idea, he had been completely poker faced!

We booked an engagement shoot with Krishanthi who had been recommended to us by a friend.  Neither of us had ever been photographed by a professional before and we were so impressed how she made us feel so at ease – a lot of our friends have commented on how relaxed we look in the photos.  We were absolutely delighted with the shoot – the photos captured everything we wanted!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
