love shoot: snow-filled engagement {phoebe & gavin}
Hi lovelies! A few weeks ago, when the country was blanketed with snow, my social media feeds were filled with excited messaged about snow-filled shoots and I begged my favourite photographers to send me their images to share! I was thrilled to receive an email from Charlie of CKB Photography with this cute snowy engagement shoot! Phoebe and Gavin are the most adorable couple, and are going to make a stunning bride and groom – and just wait until you hear what they’ve got planned!
We actually met through a mutual friend, although we took about two years to pluck up the courage to actually go on a date!! We knew each other but then both ended up with someone else for a while, then a year later we walked past each other in the street and later that day he messaged me asking me on a date (obviously having snooped and found out I was single!) I was having an operation on my teeth and so put it off for like 6 weeks while my face went back to normal, covered in bruises and looking like a ‘Hey Arnold!’ character wasn’t the first impression I wanted to make!! Our second date was Alton Towers with friends, which Gav agreed to despite his fear of roller coasters (I didn’t know until his friends let it slip on the day!!)

We got engaged on his birthday, at home after he’d already given me a grey diamond bracelet! It was a complete shock to me, despite us always talking about getting married, I thought he was just entertaining me with all my ideas!!! My ring was custom made, grey, rose cut diamond. I love grey, it’s my favourite colour. My mum knew for months before hand and actually managed to keep a secret from me which was quite impressive!!
We chose a summer wedding as that was the kind of time we started dating, and I wanted it to be warm, but still with the possibility of having my favourite flowers, Peonies! We’d seen a number of venues before settling on Norwood Park; the ceremony room made me teary the first time I saw it. It’s a beautiful Georgian country house set in gorgeous surroundings. As Gavin is a musician that it was important to him that we had some great music on throughout the day with a friends band performing and others doing some DJ sets. I’m not a fan of traditional floral arrangements so will be buying all the flowers wholesale and enlisting the help of my bridesmaids and friends to help me set up, using a mix of vases, jars and votives I have been collecting to create little DIY centre pieces and candles. My dress will be custom made by myself, bridesmaids dresses are all customised high street finds and Gavin will be wearing Burberry. We’re having a second wedding celebration the following day with a garden party. There will be a second dress for this, that will then also fly with me on our honeymoon to Thailand where we’ll be having a blessing with my Dad, step-mum and brothers who cannot make it to our wedding in the UK!
They are lovely and what a cool looking couple…The fact that it was freezing doesn’t show at all…Great job…
