Afternoon lovelies! How about a little afternoon treat? Are you sure? Right, then you grab a cup of tea and I’ll provide the something sweet, courtesy of the gorgeous Reshmi of Anges de Sucres. Reshmi is a self-confessed macaron obsessive, who creates these delicious little melt in the mouth treats from her kitchen in West London.  This afternoon I’m thrilled not only to be able to share some of Reshmi’s work, but also show you her in action in the kitchen, thanks to photographer Anneli.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Reshmi a few times over the past year, her macarons {not to be confused with macaroons, read Reshmi’s hilarious explanation here} were served to the lovely ladies at The Pretty Blog London workshop last year, and feature in the most whimsical of dessert tables in my latest styled shoot.  We’ve also shared a few piña colada’s on, a-hem, working night’s out ;) She is just as sweet as the treats she creates, professional, talented and full of bubbly, fun personality and wit.

But don’t take my word for it, find out more about Reshmi’s style in our interview ~

My style is…Playing an eclectic modern twist on classic recipes. I’m professionally trained in classical French cuisine, but have worked in modern French Michelin-starred restaurant focused on Haute Cuisine and come from a varied cultural background from where I draw a lot of inspiration.

I’m inspired by…tastes, sights, smells. From architecture and travel, to flora and fauna!

My favourite flavour is…Rosemary & Vanilla. It is a burst of deep fruity vanilla from our organic Papua New Guinean vanilla pods with a surprising but delicate after-taste of rosemary – my favourite herb. Perfectly marries sweet and savoury!

Trends I love right now…colour popping and colour clashing! Coming from an Asian background, we’re used to seeing bright colours clashing big Bollywood style where it isn’t so much a trend as it is traditional. So it is refreshing to see fuschia and orange, or teal and coral playing together in a chic and modern setting.

I admireLadurée. Of course, they are known as one of the leaders in macaron-world but I am inspired by their presentation and ethos, and am grateful for their presence and for show-casing the previously-little-known macaron to the world at a much larger scale! As for designers, I adore Manuel Mota (who designed my wedding dress) and Elie Saab.

I love my job because…I am allowed free-reign on creativity. From recipes to presentation to marketing. Everyday is a new ride and for me to make the best out of! Plus when I hear lovely feedback, it’s nice to keep most of the credit ;)

Weddings make me…joyfully teary, and bring out the bad dancer in me.

My advice for couples planning their wedding is…take a break! No phones, no emails, no laptops. Just for a day even. Sometimes all the planning and politics could take up centre-stage, when really, it’s about you as a couple. Oh, and choose your bridal party and suppliers with your gut – positivity and reliability is what the gut generally wants!

If you haven’t yet picked your wedding favours, or are looking for an extra treat for your dessert table {or how about a macaron tower instead of a heavy fruit cake?!} I beg you to try Reshmi’s macarons! With delectable flavours like Dark as Sin Chocolate and Morning Sunshine, and very grown-up Cosmopolitan and Strawberry Daquiri, neither you or your guests will be disappointed!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
